3.14 Environmental tests (see 3.4.2.3.2).
3.14.1 Extreme operating temperature. When tested as specified in 4.5.3.5, the loudspeaker complete assembly
shall be tested at the high temperature and at the low temperature. The complete assembly meets the following; the
impedance, sensitivity, and response-frequency characteristics of the loudspeaker and the gain and distortion of the
amplifier.
3.14.2 Temperature cycling. When tested as specified in 4.5.3.6, the loudspeaker complete assembly shall be
tested at the high temperature and at the low temperature for cycling. The complete assembly shall be inspected for
evidence of mechanical impairment. The complete assembly meets the following; the impedance, sensitivity, and
response-frequency characteristics of the loudspeaker and the gain and distortion of the amplifier.
3.14.3 Pressure cycling. When tested as specified in 4.5.3.7, the loudspeaker complete assembly shall be tested
at high altitude and at ground level for pressure cycling. The complete assembly shall be inspected for evidence of
mechanical impairment. The complete assembly meets the following; the impedance, sensitivity, and response-
frequency characteristics of the loudspeaker and the gain and distortion of the amplifier.
3.14.4 Humidity. When tested as specified in 4.5.3.8, the loudspeaker complete assembly shall meet the following
requirements:
a. Loudspeaker:
(1) Voice coil impedance variation: Not more than 1 ohm maximum from the initial measured value, except
when measurements are made immediately after hot and cold exposures of the last cycle (see
(2) Sensitivity variation: Not more than ±1 dB from the initial measured value (see 3.4.2.3.2).
(3) Frequency response: As specified in 3.4.2.3.3.
b. Amplifier:
(1) Gain 7.5 dB at 1,000 Hz. As specified in 3.5.1.1.
c. Visual examination: There shall be no visual or mechanical failures (see table IX).
3.14.5 Vibration. When tested as specified in 4.5.3.9, the loudspeaker complete assembly shall meet the following
requirements.
As specified in 3.5.1.1.
c. Visual examination: There shall be no visual or mechanical failures (see table IX).
d. The loudspeaker lead connector shall not shift from the initially engaged position with the amplifier pin
terminals as a result of the vibration test.
